Freedom Admissions Ceremony - 09 July 2013

At a ceremony at the Town Hall today, Tuesday 09 July 2013 at 11.30am, three applicants were admitted as Freemen of Berwick-upon-Tweed. After the ceremony the applicants were photographed on the steps of the Town Hall.
Two new Councillors for Berwick-upon-Tweed

At a Council meeting on Monday, 24 June 2013 the two remaining Councillor vacancies were filled. Alan Turnbull is the new Councillor for Magdalene Ward whilst Joe Lang is the new Councillor for Grove Ward.

Following the elections on 2 May 2013, there are two vacancies to be filled on Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council; one is to represent Grove Ward, the other to represent Magdalene Ward. Councillors will serve until the next election in May 2017.

There is a drop-in session from 3.30 to 7 pm on Tuesday 11 June at St Mary's School. Find out about BBH plans for the Three Fields area, and also ask about welfare reform, ownership options etc. There will also be a local councillor on hand to welcome ideas from residents about any problems
Deliveries to start again at Berwick Maternity Unit

Low risk women will soon be able to deliver their babies at the Berwick Maternity Unit.
This follows a decision by the Joint Locality Executive Board of NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) that the model of care should be a unit open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday
