First Honorary Freeman of Berwick-upon-Tweed

First Honorary Freeman of Berwick-upon-Tweed has been confirmed as John Hush of the Co-operative Funeral Service in Tweedmouth. The title was conferred on Mr Hush by the Town Mayor, Councillor Jennifer Waterhouse, on Sunday 1 May at the Town Hall.  Mr Hush also received a special certificate to mark the occasion. He was nominated because of his exceptional service over many years to the people of Berwick-upon-Tweed, both in his occupation and in a voluntary capacity through supporting Berwick Rangers FC and other sports associations.
