Councillor John Stephenson

Members of Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council were saddened to learn that Councillor John Stephenson passed away on 13 September. Councillor Stephenson had represented Grove Ward since May 2013, had been Deputy Mayor since May this year, and was Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee. Town Mayor Councillor Isabel Hunter said: 'Since joining the Council just last year, he was clearly determined to help make a difference, and despite his increasing frailty made sure he attended every meeting he could. We will miss his wise words, experience and humour, and his conscientious attention to detail.'
