Market a Showcase for Town’s Talented Teenagers

Young entrepreneurs were given their chance to shine at the inaugural Berwick teenage market. Around a dozen stalls lined lower Marygate, along with a stage for live music and entertainment.
The event, which was organised by Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council, aimed to give youngsters a free platform for them to be entrepreneurial, try out a new a business idea and sell creative products.
The market was well supported by stallholders and attracted a good turnout of residents and visitors.
Mayor Ivor Dixon, who opened the event, said: "We, in Berwick, are the first teenage market in Northumberland. It gives the youngsters a goal and I'd like to thank our clerk, Wendy Pattison, who came up with the idea."
