Opportunities to get involved with this year’s Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival!
15 July 2013
Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival - the annual international celebration of the art of film - returns Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th September 2013, and is now offering opportunities for individuals and for businesses to help create the biggest and most successful edition to date.
The Festival is pleased to announce its annual call fro volunteers, and to introduce the latest member of the team - Gerry Maguire, who joins us as Volunteers and Production Coordinator. Gerry has a background in film production, with credits including BAFTA-nominated I Am Nasrine, which premiered in Berwick in 2011.
Gerry says, "Being a part of the Berwick Film & Arts Fest team is a really exciting opportunity. Having been to the Festival in the past, I've seen how it's gone from strength to strength and this year looks to be better than ever. I'm looking forward to working with a team of volunteers that are just as excited as I am about this years festival."
The Festival couldn't happen without the support of support of more than 50 volunteers every year from Berwick, and across the North East and Scottish Borders, who together help transform the entire town into one big screen for 5 days each September.
Volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and cover activities in all areas of the event organisation and delivery, offering a chance for everyone to take part, and in return are offered unrivalled access to the festival.
The Festival provides each volunteer with a unique experience, tailored to suit their skills, interests and passions, as well as the chance to develop skills and gain experience within a managed event environment. An inclusive, intergenerational approach is taken to volunteering at Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, with applications sought from anyone over 16 years of age, and with no maximum age limit.
