Berwick's Future Town Centre
19 May 2020
As part of our response to the restrictions on movement and business arising from the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Town Council has begun exploring what's needed after the restrictions are lifted in our Town Centre.
We think this is going to be a fast moving situation, where the range of interventions will go from simple things like moving street furniture to possible large scale changes to how we all move round the Town Centre, and how we interact with each other.
The only thing we're certain about is that the future is uncertain, and that the new normal will be different to how things were before the pandemic. We're also acutely aware that things weren't perfect before the pandemic, and that there have been lots of discussions about that in the past.
The first draft of our future plan for the Town Centre can be found at Berwick's Future Town Centre. It's a working document. It's built on suggestions form the partners we've spoken to so far, and will change and grow as we try solutions, as we talk to more partners and as the situation changes.
You can email us your thoughts to info@berwick-tc.gov.uk - we'll publish them anonymously, and, if you wish, we'll email you back with updates on the plan and how it's proceeding.
