New Leisure Centre for Berwick

Berwick Town Council is inviting local residents with an opinion on the location of the new leisure centre to email their ideas to the Town Council.

Interim Town Clerk Gareth Davies explained 'Obviously we're looking forward to the start of consultation on the new project by Active Northumberland, but this is also a major issue for our Neighbourhood Plan Working Group.'

In order to help form the debate, the Town Council are inviting Berwick residents to email consult@berwick-tc.gov.uk with their proposals about the location of the new facility and the facilities it should provide. Cllr Eric Goodyer who leads the neighbourhood planning process for the Town Council said ‘Proposals like this are a once in a generation opportunity and we owe it to the people of Berwick to make sure their views are represented.'

Suggestions to the Town Council will help the Town Council form its response, and will be forwarded to Active Northumberland when their consultation commences.
